We Lend A Hand: The Forgotten Story of Ontario Farmerettes
September 18 @ 7:30 pm
We are so pleased to be hosting a special screening of “We Lend a Hand” — a documentary that shares the inspiring story of Ontario’s Farmerettes. The film will be followed by an open question and answer period led by Bonnie Sitter. From 1941 to 1952 over 40 000 volunteer teenage women stepped forward to work on farms across the country, helping to feed a nation and support the war effort. Their dedication, resilience, and contributions helped to shape Ontario agricultural history. Come learn about these remarkable women, celebrate their legacy, and discover an important chapter in Ontario’s rural heritage. Admission is $20 at the door. Enjoy the evening with us as we gather to learn more about our rural history. Wheelchair Accessible Building. Refreshments Available.
