The closures of schools and churches are changing the fabric of rural Ontario. As they lose these central meeting spaces, people in rural communities are becoming isolated from each other.

In Kingsbridge, the community has repurposed the closed church as a cultural centre with a community based agenda. To follow our progress or join us on this journey of revitalization, we invite you to explore this website.

“Never believe that a few caring people can’t change the world. For, indeed, that’s all who ever have.”

Steve Deasy

May 18 @ 8:00 pm

Steve Deasy is a Pittsburgh born, Detroit based performing songwriter, producer and arranger. His songwriting has been recognized by the Kerrville Music To Life and Great Lakes Songwriting competitions. Steve is a socially conscious writer in the tradition of Bob Dylan and Pete Seeger, but with the contemporary musicality of new folk, classic rock, pop, and jazz influences. Add some humorous Steve Goodman-style story songs and you have Steve Deasy: relevant, complex funny and talented.

The evening will feature acoustic favorites from around the world and Steve’s original songs. The audience will invited to sing along. Local Kingsbridge talent will perform duets with Steve on some songs. There will be a free will offering, with proceeds going to the support of the Kingsbridge  Centre.

The program begins at 8pm; doors will open an hour prior to the event. Refreshments available.
